- Bachelorette
- A term for an unmarried woman.
- Back-Up Cake
- A sheet cake that is the same flavor as your wedding cake, used to serve the guests in addition to the display cake.
- Backpiece
- A decorated comb that is worn on the back of the bride's head and used to attach her veil.
- Ballet Veil
- A bridal veil length that falls below the bride’s knees, but above her ankles, measuring approximately 54" to 60" in length. Often worn as a double layer with a blusher veil. Also known as a waltz veil.
- Basket Weave
- A type of decorative piping (icing of interlinked horizontal and vertical lines) on a wedding cake.
- Best Man
- A person special to the groom and chosen by him to be a member of the bridal party. The best man has many duties; keeping the bride's wedding ring safe until the time for the wedding vows, announcing speeches at the reception and making his own toast to the newlyweds, signing the marriage license, and making sure the groom makes it to the wedding.
- Biedermeier
- A type of posy where the flowers are arranged in rings by color.
- Blusher
- A short, single layered veil that covers the bride's face before the wedding ceremony.
- Body Shapers
- Sheer hosiery with control and support to wear under a garment.
- Bomboniere
- An Italian word which is sometimes used to refer to wedding favors which are given to wedding guests as a keepsake in appreciation of their attendance at the wedding.
- Boutonniere
- This is a single flower bud worn on the left lapel of a man's jacket; worn by the groom, best man, ushers, and male relatives of the bride and groom.
- Bow Tie
- A short tie shaped like a bow that can be worn with a wing or laydown collar. A bow tie is a popular choice of tie to wear with a tuxedo. Also known as a dickey bow.
- Bridal Procession
- When the bride walks down the aisle, often preceded by the bridesmaids and flower girls, at the wedding ceremony.
- Bridal Shower
- Party for the bride before the wedding, usually coordinated by the bridesmaids or family members, to give gifts to the bride and groom for their new home. Also popular, a lingerie theme bridal shower to outfit the bride for her honeymoon.
- Bride's Bouquet (Bridal Bouquet)
- The flower arrangement for the bride, usually held as she walks down the aisle.
- Bridesmaids
- These are the good friends of the bride chosen by her to be a part of her wedding party. They provide emotional support for the bride, may help the bride with the wedding details, and often coordinate the bridal shower for the bride.
- Bubbles
- Used as an alternative to rice when sending off the bride and groom.
- Buffet
- A self service style of meal at the wedding reception, where guests collect a plate and help themselves to food and drink that is arranged on long tables. A buffet can be a less expensive food option than a sit down meal because there is not the expense of waiters, but costs can rise as there is less control over portion size.
- Butter Cream Icing
- A soft and creamy icing made of butter, confectionery sugar and milk. It can be colored and flavored and is a popular choice for decorating or filling the wedding cake.
