- Pearls
- A valued gemstone used in jewelry and a favorite choice of brides for their wedding day jewelry. Pearls symbolize purity, perfection, elegance, and affluence. Pearls are created in oysters when layers of secretion called nacre coat an irritant such as a grain of sand over time, but such natural pearls are rare and expensive. More common are cultured pearls, created when glass beads are inserted into oysters for coating; imitation pearls, available in various qualities; and fresh-water pearls.
- Pomander
- A ball of flowers with a ribbon attached for carrying. Type of flower arrangement often carried by flower girls.
- Posies
- Plural form of posy.
- Posy
- A small roundly shaped flower bouquet, usually made from the same type or same color of flowers that are cut to the same length and combined with greenery, all which are tightly held together with twine or wires. Plural form is posies.
- Pouf
- A piece of tulle that is gathered up and attached to a headpiece or comb and worn to create height for the veil.
- Presentation Bouquet
- An elegant arrangement of long-stemmed flowers, such as calla lilies or long-stemmed roses, tied together with a big ribbon. Carried by cradling the flowers on the arm, at the inner area of the elbow. Also called an arm bouquet or pageant bouquet.
